ParkVisitor.com™ Launches at Outdoor Retailer With The First Nationwide Park Rating System

SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH — ParkVisitor.com, an attractive new online portal for outdoor enthusiasts and experts, made its debut today with live demonstrations in booth #32074 at the Outdoor Retailer Winter Market show sponsored by the Outdoor Industry Association. Built and powered by those who know and love the parks best — outdoor enthusiasts and experts — the website features valuable, free information about nearly 5,000 U.S. national and state parks and activities as varied as rock climbing, cross-country skiing, canoeing, camping, or mountain biking.

Designed with the outdoor enthusiast in mind, ParkVisitor.com engages users by allowing them to rate and review parks, much like they would a restaurant, doctor or nail salon. The result is a detailed profile of parks from coast-to-coast.

“Think of it as Yelp for the outdoors, but with expert input,” says Shari Boyer, CEO of Good Solutions Group, a Pasadena, California-based company that connects corporate brands to parks. “We’ve created the first nationwide park rating system for consumers that helps make their outdoor adventures even better with detailed information on parks and activities.”

Each park is assigned a proprietary ParkVisitor score based on an algorithm that factors in visitor ratings, insider expert tips and the park’s social media buzz. The scores lead to better outdoor adventures because they’re based on visitor participation and candid feedback, which proves helpful to others looking to participate in outdoor experiences.

Boyer reports that initial feedback indicates an impressive 99 percent of the ParkVisitor.com visitors found the website seamless to navigate and 96 percent of the visitors believed their experience was helpful. “ParkVisitor.com has been live for only a short time, but it is already proving popular with park experts, enthusiasts and the general public”, Boyer says. “As the site is more heavily populated with review and tips, it will see even more traffic.”

At the Outdoor Retailer show, attendees can enter to win a Jackson Journey kayak (approximate value $1,200) simply by reviewing a park on the new website. Reviewers can access ParkVisitor.com at the show booth #32074 via computer or on any mobile device. Every review equals one chance to take home this great outdoor prize. The winner need not be present and will be notified on January 25th.

ParkVisitor.com incorporates brand marketing opportunities into the website, allowing companies to support parks financially and align appropriate products and services to a great cause. Marketing opportunities include advertising space, sponsored content, email placement and contest support.

The new website portal is just one of the products from Good Solutions Group, a company that connects brands to active lifestyle consumers and parks across the country. ParkVisitor.com utilizes the “20 Percent for Parks” model, where 20% of proceeds go back to parks. Over the past decade, this partnership has generated over $7.7 million in value to parks through welcome maps, retail cause marketing campaigns and sampling programs.
